Customers can bank with OTP Bank Romania until February 28 at 12:00. OTP Bank cards will work until March 1 at 21:30.

Banca Transilvania and OTP Bank Romania are proactively sharing information relevant for OTP Bank Romania customers about access to OTP Bank services and products between February 28–March 2, 2025. During that period, technical work related to the merger of the two banks will take place.

Banca Transilvania and OTP Bank’s priority is to keep the impact of the migration on customers to a minimum.

Details on access to services and products: 

• February 28 (12:00) is the date and time until which customers will be able to bank with OTP Bank Romania, in branches or via the apps.
  
  
• March 1 (21:30) is the date and time until which OTP Bank Romania cards will work.
  
  
• Starting March 2 (7:00), OTP Bank Romania customers will be able to use the Banca Transilvania cards that replace their OTP Bank cards – both physical and digital (debit) cards, via the BT Pay app.
  
  
• Starting March 3, OTP Bank Romania customers will be able to use Banca Transilvania’s services and products.

BT recommendations for OTP Bank Romania customers ahead of the merger:

• Download the BT Pay app, which allows BT debit cards to be used starting Sunday, March 2, at 7:00, even before you receive the physical BT card.
  
  
• Picking up your BT card: if you haven’t already, please pick up the BT card that will replace your current OTP Bank card. You can collect it from the BT/OTP Bank branch or agency where it is already waiting for you, which you can find out in several ways.
  
  
• Activate your BT card at any Banca Transilvania ATM.
• Have cash available if you need it during the night of March 1/2, 2025, between March 1 at 21:30 and March 2 at 7:00.
  
  
• Be extra vigilant with all messages received during this period. There is a risk that malicious actors may try to mimic BT/OTP Bank Romania communications via various channels for potential fraud. The bank will never ask for information such as your bank account, login credentials, card details, etc., nor will it ask you to make transfers/payments, to complete personal/banking data via links, or to download apps that allow remote control of your phone or laptop.
