Banca Transilvania reports very strong results on satisfaction among Romanians living abroad who open an account through the BT Pay app. The Net Promoter Score (NPS) for this experience is 86 (out of 100), one of the highest recorded in BT’s customer satisfaction study in 2025 and the first months of 2026.

Profile of customers in the diaspora, according to the study:

• High digital autonomy: customers living abroad are highly self-directed in their digital interactions with Banca Transilvania.
  
  
• Diverse account usage: they use, or plan to use, their BT account to receive recurring income from Romania (salary, pension, scholarship, allowance), for occasional income, saving, investing, trying out BT solutions and maintaining financial ties with Romania.
  
  
• How customers choose BT Pay: new customers chose the app mainly based on recommendations (nearly 50%), information found online (on BT’s website, on social media and via searches using artificial intelligence – about 45%), as well as interactions with the team in Romania, Italy and the Republic of Moldova, where the Banca Transilvania Group has a physical presence.
  
  

With BT Pay, money is easy to manage anytime, from anywhere in the world 

BT Pay helps Romanians living abroad manage their money anytime and from anywhere, and stay financially connected with family and friends in Romania. BT Pay replaces the trip to the branch for people who want to become Banca Transilvania customers.

New customers get immediate access to all app features and receive their digital debit card instantly in the app and, later, the physical card at one of the bank’s branches or at the address of their choice. The card can be funded either by IBAN transfer or via a card from another bank added to BT Pay. Romanians resident in Italy have access to the BT Pay Italia app, which provides an Italian IBAN - so income from Italy can be received into a BT account with no incoming fee -, a digital card and instant transfer solutions. The app can be downloaded from Google Play, App Store and Huawei AppGallery.

Where most new BT Pay customers live

10% of the bank’s new customers who open an account via the BT Pay app live or study abroad, most of them in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Moldova, Italy, Germany and Spain.
