BT and Endeavor Romania connect Romanian companies with opportunities for international growth. First market immersion to be held in Spain
A first group of Romanian companies preparing for international expansion is participating this month in Madrid in the first market immersion as part of the Beyond Borders program, launched by Endeavor Romania, together with Romanian Business Leaders and Banca Transilvania.
The selected companies have a proven, successful track record on the Romanian market and operate in diverse sectors, ranging from artificial intelligence, medtech, and software to food production, services, and logistics. Some of them already have international operations and are participating in the program to test specific plans for entering and expanding on the Spanish market.
Why Spain?
Spain is the program’s first destination due to its favorable environment for companies in the internationalization process: a dynamic economy, an active entrepreneurial ecosystem, strong economic ties with Romania and one of the largest Romanian diaspora outside the country.
Access to markets, expertise, and connections relevant to growth
The initiative aims to provide selected companies with relevant access to markets, expertise, and connections that can support the internationalization process. It facilitates access to entrepreneurs, experts, and members of the Romanian business diaspora in Spain, helping to forge connections, understand the local business environment, and identify concrete opportunities for growth and collaboration.
Each company follows a tailored path based on its objectives and stage of development, which includes meetings with Romanian and Spanish business founders - active on the local market, decision-makers from Spanish companies, investors, market entry experts, and members of the Romanian business community in Spain. At the end of the program in Spain, participants receive mentoring and follow-up sessions structured around the opportunities and directions identified.
Access to these resources is facilitated through the global Endeavor network and the Endeavor community of founders in Spain, offering companies the opportunity to validate hypotheses more quickly, understand market specifics, and build relationships relevant for their businesses next steps. Through this carefully curated access, the program aims to shorten the path from the intention to expand internationally to the implementation of a well-founded internationalization strategy, while reducing the risk of costly decisions.
The Business Diaspora: A Competitive Advantage for Romanian Entrepreneurs
The visit to Madrid will also feature the Diaspora Gathering, an event dedicated to connecting participating entrepreneurs with members of the Romanian business community in Spain, as well as with business founders, executives, and professionals who have in-depth knowledge of the local market. The event thus creates an additional framework for exchanging experiences, developing relevant relationships, and identifying potential opportunities for collaboration.
BT and Endeavor Romania: The internationalization of Romanian companies begins with access to the market and the right people

We stand with the entrepreneurs who keep Romania moving forward, and now we’re supporting them to expand their businesses into other countries. Romania has companies that can compete successfully in other markets, which is precisely why the challenge for entrepreneurs is no longer whether they can take this step, but when exactly. For anyone, the internationalization of their business begins with understanding the market, building a network of contacts, and finding the right partners. In saying this, we’re also thinking of ourselves, at BT. It’s a new path that we’re embarking on with joy and confidence. It’s important to support one another, and we believe that in doing so, we’re supporting the future of Romanian business.

Romanian entrepreneurs have the ambition and the ability to build innovative and internationally competitive products. However, when entering a new market, access to the right people can make a significant difference: founders who have faced similar challenges, potential customers who can validate a solution, or partners who have a deep understanding of the local context. “Beyond Borders” was created precisely to provide this type of relevant and carefully curated access and to help entrepreneurs make more informed decisions as they expand internationally.

A Partnership for a New Generation of Romanian Companies
Banca Transilvania and Endeavor Romania announced in August 2026 a strategic partnership aimed at supporting the international expansion of Romanian companies and connecting them with the Romanian business diaspora in several countries, in Europe and the United States. Together, they aim to accelerate the development of a new generation of Romanian companies that are growing beyond national borders.
The next market immersion will take place in Greece in October 2026.
