Updating the data helps us ensure that our messages reach where you can read them and, at the same time, comply with legal requirements regarding the accuracy of your information.
Update Your Data
Through BT Pay
Go to Settings, in your Profile and start updating the data.
Everything is online and in just 10 minutes you have updated data. If you don't already have BT Pay installed, you download the app for free from the App Store or Google Play.

In any BT unit
If you arrive at our unit, our colleagues will help you update your data. Don't forget to make an appointment at the nearest unit.

The only reason we want to update the data of all our clients is to comply with the legal framework and for the security of transactions and the entire financial system. Each verified and updated piece of information has a well-founded explanation and helps in one way or another the clients, the bank, or the State to secure the functioning of the financial system.
We do not like at all to tell you this, but you must know that if we do not manage to update your data, we will have to restrict your access to financial transactions through the account, until the data is updated. We know, it is not pleasant for us either and we would be sorry to do this. 😥
So we rely on you. Think of it as your way of contributing to a healthy financial system.

Data updating is a legal requirement regarding customer knowledge, being a mandatory process both for us and for you.
To continue benefiting from banking services, you need to accept our invitations to to update your data online or in a BT agency.
You can update your data easily and quickly through BT Pay.
In the case of individuals, data update can be performed by presenting a valid identity document, as well as information related to:
➤⠀occupation;
➤⠀e-mail address;
➤⠀phone number;
➤⠀residential address;
➤⠀the name of the employer or the nature of one's own activity;
➤⠀the source of funds traded through the opened accounts;
➤⠀the purpose and nature of the business relationship with Banca Transilvania;
➤⠀the status of a politically exposed person or even the ultimate beneficiary of the transactions carried out through the account if this is different from the account holder.
You can do this simply and quickly, choosing one of the following options 😉
❶⠀If you are an adult resident, you can update your data through BT Pay by following the menu "Settings" ➭ "Personal Data"
❷⠀And if you are a minor or non-resident, you can update your data at any BT agency with an original identity document;

If you arrive at a unit, our colleagues are there to help you update your company's data. Don't forget to make an appointment first - it's faster and saves you from waiting.

When it is necessary to update the data, we will inform you in advance. 😉
We will make sure to send a notification via e-mail / SMS / letter. So, please make sure that the e-mail address, phone number, and mailing address you have provided us are up to date and allow receiving our messages.
Also, you can be contacted by phone or you can be informed even by colleagues from BT units, when you pass by us again. 🙂
If you want to update your data on your own initiative, you should know that:
➤⠀if you are natural person, you must update your data when you change information such as: identity document, contact details (phone number, email address, residential address), information about your employer, citizenship, country of tax residence, purpose and nature of the business relationship or source of funds;
➤⠀if you are legal entity, you must update your information when your company has changed: the name, field of activity, associates, address of the registered office or other data regarding it.
The data update process is mandatory for both us and you (whether you are a natural person or a legal entity). Here's why: 🙂
➤⠀For us (banks in Romania) is a legal obligation, to better know our clients;
➤⠀For you, a client of Transilvania Bank, because this process ensures the continuation of your relationship with us, transparency and safety.
The requirements regarding the obligation of periodic updating of client data and information are stipulated in Law no. 129 / 2019, in the National Bank of Romania Regulation no. 2 / 2019 as well as in other applicable legal regulations.
In BT units, the update can also be done by an authorized person if they have a mandate to this effect and present the relevant documents.
