Term deposits
If you have a term deposit or savings account at Idea::Bank, it will be taken over by BT starting from June 14 of this year.
Useful details about the saving products/services that did not find a match at BT:
- Saving products will be taken over under the conditions you currently have at Idea::Bank, but the interest rate and some terms will be updated at the first maturity according to BT.
- If you have a 3-month deposit and your contract from Idea::Bank does not have an automatic renewal clause, it will be terminated at the first maturity date.
- If you have a deposit at Idea with automatic renewal and variable interest, at its first renewal it will be renewed with fixed interest, with monthly interest payment or capitalization, according to the option from Idea::Bank.
- If you have a deposit without an automatic renewal clause, and the due date is before the assignment date at BT (June 10 of the current year), it will no longer be taken over at BT;
- If you have a 24-month deposit in USD/GBP and your contract with Idea::Bank does not have an automatic renewal clause, it will be closed at the first maturity. If you do not have a current account at Idea::Bank, at BT you will need to open a current account at the moment you want to liquidate these deposits, as withdrawing or transferring money (cash) directly from the deposit account is not possible.
Standard commissions
If you have decided to give up a deposit, regardless of the time, the fees for cash withdrawal or transfer are the standard ones of BT.
Savings account
Savings accounts at Idea::Bank will be taken over by BT starting June 14 this year.
- Interest is calculated daily, based on the account balance, and is capitalized monthly in the savings account;
- The balance is variable, but it cannot go below the minimum BT balance (1,000 monetary units). We consider the decrease of the savings account balance below this threshold as early termination, and the balance is automatically transferred to the current account.
The amounts up to 100,000 euros, equivalent in lei/per depositor, are guaranteed by the Bank Deposits Guarantee Fund. It applies to the cumulative balance of deposits held at Banca Transilvania after the assignment from Idea (Law No. 311/2015).
