BT Pay,
the only super-app for banking and payments in Romania, comes with a series of security elements for the over 2 million users, such as:
When you use the application:
- Download BT Pay only from the official App Store and Google Play Store stores and use only official versions on your phone;
- Set a security measure: password, PIN, pattern, fingerprint, facial recognition, etc.
- Register BT Pay on the phone number that is also in our database.
When you enroll the card:
- Enter the requested data (CVV or card information) only in BT Pay;
- Enter the OTP codes received from the bank only in BT Pay.
- Do not share your card details/codes received from the bank with anyone. These must only be entered in BT Pay and allow the card to be enrolled in the application and access to your money.
- The bank never asks you for card details (card number, CVV code, expiration date) or authentication passwords via email, SMS, or phone.
When you use the application:
- For payment with the phone at the POS, money transfer or online payment authorization, use the phone unlocking method.
- For withdrawing money from the ATM (based on code or contactless), you need the phone unlocking method. And when you withdraw money contactlessly from the ATM, you also need the card PIN, which must be entered at the ATM.
- The security method must also be used when you want to view card data, block/unblock the card, set transaction limits, and for any operation that requires authentication.
- Do not communicate the unlock method of your phone to anyone. It allows access to your money and to the authorization of transactions.
- Use a strong unlocking method and enable fingerprint/face recognition.
- Take care of the smartphone. If you lose it, call us to block the cards - both physical cards and digital ones.
BT24 Mobile Banking & NeoBT
- After activating one of these applications, you have access through the chosen PIN/biometric data, previously activated on the mobile device (fingerprint, Face ID).
- When we request access to certain permissions, it is only for the proper functioning of the application.
- After a period of inactivity, automatic disconnection occurs, also for security reasons.
- We request PIN/fingerprint/Face ID both for transactions (payments, currency exchange, card top-ups, fund purchases, deposit formation/liquidations), as well as for card unlocking/locking, limit modifications, card PIN reset. In the case of NeoBT, also for cash withdrawal without card at the ATM.
- If you use NeoBT, we ask you for an SMS to confirm the first 5 payments, subsequent to their signing being done with the PIN/biometric data previously activated.
- You can delete the application at any time from a device you no longer use.
- BT24 or NeoBT cannot be installed on devices with root or jailbreak.

- It is necessary to identify you as a BT individual client, account holder/legal representative of the legal entity BT account holder. Therefore, for safety, we request these details: Personal Numeric Code (CNP), your status in relation to the bank (individual/legal entity client), and the unique identification code (CUI) (for company clients).
- When you call us, it must be from a phone number that is in our database.
- Access to the platform is made based on a secure link with temporary validity.
