    Online Safety Guide for Entrepreneurs 

    As an entrepreneur, your company's time and data are essential. We have prepared for you a short guide with the most common methods used by attackers and how you can avoid them.

    Phishing – fake sites BT Go

    Attackers create pages that imitate BT Go and ask you for login data.
           
    For your safety, do not access BT Go from the Google search page, some of the displayed results may be false and I can redirect you to phishing sites.

    When you want to log in to BT Go from the desktop, go to bancatransilvania.ro in the Internet Banking section or save the application link: https://goapp.bancatransilvania.ro/. If the address is not identical, it is almost certainly an attempt at fraud.
               
    Frauds that use the name of ANAF

    Companies are contacted for "adjustments", "recalculations" or "refunds" of paid taxes or duties.
    • ANAF does not request money via phone, WhatsApp, or SMS.
    • ANAF does not ask you to provide company data through links or forms sent by messages.
               
    Spoofing – imitating the bank's number or even the client's number

    In such cases, attackers use BT Visual Help with the client's spoofed number, and the client receives a real BT Info message with the BTVH link, even though they did not request it.
    If you have not requested such a link, do not access it and contact us immediately.
               
    False investments and calls regarding "dividends to be collected"

    Warning signals:
    • Financial "secure" promises.
    • Request for the installation of remote control applications (AnyDesk, TeamViewer).
    • Proposals to transfer money to "secured accounts".
               
    Attempts that mimic the BT Go process for companies

    The bank will never ask you:
    • Update BT Go after you have entered the credentials.
    • To make "payment simulations.
    • To update company data via links sent by SMS/WhatsApp/email
    • To send bank data, OTP codes, PIN, CVV, images of documents, contracts, stamps.

    Rour recommendations:

    • Check the source of each message. Especially when it comes to payments, suppliers, access changes or data updates.
    • Do not install applications recommended by unknown people. These can allow attackers access to company data, accounts, transactions.
    • Do not respond to pressure. Frauds are built on urgency: "now", "immediately", "otherwise the account is blocked". Ignore and verify.

    Check the monthly transactions

    Check the monthly reports of card transactions, which you receive automatically from the bank, through the requested channel (email, Mobile & Internet Banking or by mail).

    Notify the bank of any changes regarding contact details and if you notice transactions that you do not recognize.

    BT Pay & digital business cards

    BT Pay is the ideal place for digital business cards (debit, credit, BT or non-BT cards, in lei or euros), as well as for personal ones. This way you can pay contactless with your phone, check the card balances directly from the app, temporarily/permanently block a card, and check in real time all transactions made with the card. With BT Pay you can even group expenses by categories.

    When you install the application:

    • Download BT Pay only from the official App Store and Google Play Store and use only the official versions on your phone;
    • Set a security measure: password, PIN, fingerprint, facial recognition, etc.
    • Register BT Pay on the phone number that is also in our database.

    When you enroll the card:

    • Enter the requested data (CVV or card information) only in BT Pay;
    • Enter the OTP codes received from the bank only in BT Pay.

    When you use the application:

    • For payment with the phone at the POS, money transfer or online payment authorization, use the phone unlocking method.
    • For withdrawing money from the ATM (contactless), you need the phone unlocking method. And when you withdraw money contactless from the ATM, you also need the card's PIN, which must be entered at the ATM.
    • The securing method must also be used when you want to view the card data, block/unblock the card and for any operation that requires authentication.

    BT Visual Help helps you with banking information and options such as:

    • Check balance, IBAN and transactions;
    • Temporarily or permanently block the cards;
    • You request the reissuance of a card after the permanent blocking;
    • Contest a transaction made with the card - you can manage and refuse certain payments made with the physical or digital card at ATMs, POS or online;
    • You generate account statements, which will then be sent directly to your e-mail in just a few minutes.

    Recommendations:

    • Chatbot is on WhatsApp (0757 080 006), Facebook Messenger, Skype, but also on the BT Mic website, make sure the sources are the bank's official ones.
    • Maintain the confidentiality of identification details when contacting the chatbot.
    • If an unauthorized person has obtained the company's identification information (including as a result of phishing), immediately notify the bank.
    • Do not share information, screenshots etc. from/of the conversation with the chatbot.

    Safely update company data

    If you receive from us an email requesting your company data, which seems to be from BT, but you cannot see/check if it is from one of the bank's employees or not, it might not be us.

    However, if there is any change in your company – name, field of activity, shareholder structure, you have at hand a sure, online way, namely the bank's website: Updating data/I update the company data.

    • It is a precautionary measure regarding the safety of transactions through BT.
    • It is a control measure and together we comply with the legislative provisions in force (Law no. 129/2019 and the Regulation of the National Bank of Romania no. 2/2019).

    Check online if business partners are trustworthy

    Let's say a partnership is approaching, but you don't know the associate very well. Before signing the commercial contract, we help you to do a verification through CIP Online. Practically, you can find out information about payment incidents in the last 7 years of account holders with checks, bills of exchange, and promissory notes. The query is carried out online directly at the Payment Incidents Central (CIP).
