    BT Story

    It has been 32 years since we have been growing in Romania and since we have seen Romania growing. And it was beautiful.

    Many times it was hard, but it was always interesting.

    I heard ideas and I saw how they became reality.

    In all this time I have seen that we have someone to rely on, that we have someone to work with, that there is someone to lend a hand, and that Romania has reasons to be optimistic.

    And we are proud to be the bank of the most enterprising years in the history of this country.

    How it all started

    16 February
    1994

    The BT story begins thanks to 46 founders, who together contributed a capital of 2 million dollars. The first steps, a team of 13 employees and a branch in Cluj.

    1997

    Listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange. BT becomes the first listed bank in Romania.

    2001

    BERD becomes a significant shareholder.

    The strong expansion of the bank at the national level begins (from 40 to 500 branches, over the course of a few years).
